About the Birds
Hello Birds Lovers!

Help us to establish this fascinating project that will have impact on the health of our forest, waters and community!

The Bird Sanctuary of Shuswap is a non-profit society operating in the Shuswap region of British Columbia since 2025. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and protect injured and vulnerable birds while preserving their natural habitat.
We are currently raising funds ($1,500,000) to purchase 32 acres of an undeveloped land in Larch Hills, where we plan to establish a dedicated bird sanctuary and rehabilitation center.
Our Vision
The sanctuary will provide a safe environment for injured birds to recover, and, whenever possible, return to the wild. To achieve this goal, we plan to develop the following facilities:
1. Medical Clinic
A fully equipped veterinary clinic for examinations, surgeries, medical treatments, and post-operative recovery care.
2. Rehabilitation Flight Aviaries
Large outdoor aviaries designed to replicate natural habitats, including trees, shrubs, and shaded areas, allowing injured birds to regain strength and flight capabilities before release.

3. Quarantine and Recovery Building
A specialized facility for newly admitted or vulnerable birds, featuring indoor housing during cold weather and attached outdoor enclosures for gradual rehabilitation.

4. Food Preparation and Administration Building
A building that will include:
-
Kitchen and food preparation area
-
Food and supply storage
-
Sanitation area
-
Equipment dry storage
-
Administrative and educational space
-
Workshops Gazebo
-

5. Organic Bio - Garden
A sustainable garden for growing organic fruits, vegetables, and plants used in the care and feeding of sanctuary birds.

How You Can Help
Your financial support will help us purchase the land, develop essential facilities, provide medical care for injured birds, and create a lasting sanctuary dedicated to wildlife conservation in the Shuswap region.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to creating a safe haven for birds in need.
